Many artists struggle to find their musical identity, but Lyrik's heart for God and unique way with words led her straight to Christian rap. Lyrik obtained her degree in Psychology from Texas Woman's University. She taught 8th grade English and was an Athletics coach for 10 years before leaving to pursue her music ministry full time. As a former educator she understands the need to reach the youth and has a passion for doing so.  Lyrik has been nominated for several awards and is the 2019 recipient of "Hip Hop Artist of The Year" at the Texas Gospel Music Excellence Awards and  Atlanta's Prayze Factor Awards. She is currently nominated for multiple awards including  National Hip Hop Artist of the Year for TGMEA and Hip Hop Artist of the year for the Kingdom Image Awards. She recently relocated to San Diego California where she is a radio personality on The Wake Up Morning Show with Dr. T and the Crew on GODRadio1.com and the host of “The Holy Inferno with Lyrik“. Lyrik has a unique gift that sets her apart from other Christian Rap music artists. She is an artist whose music feels familiar in the best pose, yet striking out on its own territory. Above all things, Lyrik has a heart to glorify God and reach out to those who need to feel the love of Jesus. She continues to advance God's kingdom with straight forward communication from her songs and speaking which makes an impact wherever the Lord sends her and her music.
